cornish cove

There is easy access to a choice of fine sandy beaches on the Camel Estuary or small and secluded coves on the Atlantic Coast, where you can relax and swim in the Gulf Stream; or play in the rock pools, whilst searching for crabs, mussels and tiny fish; or see the occasional seal, whale or dolphin basking in the sun.

Conditions are ideal for watersports as diverse as sailing, surfing, fishing, canoeing, waterskiing and windsurfing, or just lazing on the beach watching everyone else being energetic.

eden project
The Eden Project opened in March 2001, and has become the major attraction in Cornwall in record time. It is open throughout the year, providing an exciting experience for all ages, as well as education and environmental protection for a wide range of tropical and sub-tropical trees and plants.
The sheer scale of the project, the excitement of the buildings and the number of unique plants has to be seen to be believed. Eden is about half an hour's drive from Homeleigh Farm.

surfers on the beach
Polzealth is one of the main surfing beaches on this stretch of the coast, whilst Newquay is only 15 miles away for those that want to surf on the National Championship beaches. In between are a string of other beaches that provide excellent surfing conditions.

Other great beaches nearby include:
Trebarwith
Port Gaverne
Daymer Bay
Porthilly
Trevone
Watergate Bay

golf ball There are a range of golf courses at St Enodoc, Roserrow (which also has an excellent leisure pool and fitness centre), Trevose, Lanhydrock, Bowood Park and a 9 hole course at St Kew.
cornish coastline The Atlantic Coast is a continuous string of sandy or shingle coves; with Trebarwith Strand, Port Gaverne and Lundy Bay to the East of the Estuary; and Trevone Bay, Harlyn Bay, Treyarnon Bay and Bedruthan Steps to the West; all well worth a visit.
On the Estuary, Rock is the centre for sailing and waterskiing, Hayle Bay at Polzeath for surfing, whilst in between is Daymer Bay ideal for windsurfing and swimming. All three have beautiful sandy beaches, and there is ideal walking between the beaches or over the sand dunes for the more energetic.
padstow Take the ferry across the estuary from Rock, or drive across the Wadebridge Bridge, and visit this idyllic fishing village of Padstow famous for its "Obby Oss" celebrations on May Day, as well as a string of other events and carnivals through the year. Now made even more well known by Rick Stein who has a restaurant, bistro and cafe in the village all of which provide top quality meals, particularly fish.
tinatgel post office Just along the coast, Tintagel is the home of King Arthur. Tintagel Castle is viewed by many as the birthplace of King Arthur, and Merlin's Sea Cave is located below the Castle.
The Old Post Office in Tintagel is a 14th century manor house and a National Trust property. There are a number of other Trust properties in the area, as well as a National trust shop in The Old Forge in Boscastle. Lanhydrock, near Bodmin, is a fascinating late 19th century Victorian country house with a stunning garden.
Trerice, near Newquay, is a small Elisabethan manor house, with gardens, orchards and an exhibition on the history of the lawnmower.
